Friday highlights at Theakstons

  • Submitted: 19th July 2018

Theakstons is the festival of the year for crime fiction fans. Over the next 4 days there’s going to be some criminally good goings on and writers who kill for a living all in one place. They write gritty, gripping thrillers, police procedurals, mysteries and more set in a host of countries – all brought to Harrogate.

So what can you expect? A great deal! It’s the most friendliest of festivals where authors wander in amongst writers to be and readers who can’t wait to find out more about their fictional characters. But it’s not all books, there’s often mischief and mayhem. There’s a quiz with Mark Billingham and Val McDermid for example…..a band called the Fun Lovin Crime Writers and one writer is even leaving his hut in the deep Swedish forest to be there…(Will Dean) so goodness knows WHAT will happen where all these get together!
