2000s: A small town murder reveals secrets everyone would rather remain hidden
A beloved high schooler named Lucinda Hayes is found murdered, her body found in a carousel in the park. No one in her sleepy Colorado suburb is untouched by the crime and everyone wants ton know what happened to cause the death of one of their own.
This is a small town where everyone knows each other but where no one seems to know anything about anything. The police are going to have a task on their hands digging under the surface of this crime to find out what really happened.
Not a real place thank goodness but there is a Broomfield in the state and it’s in the north, close to the Rockies and Denver as in the book.
Jefferson High sounds like a delightful school with some very lovely pupils going there.None of them have problems or issues…well of course they do and all the “freaks” as they’re called here seem to be in the same classes. If you have painful memories of school days you might want to leave that girl in the snow and not pick her up.
This is a characters based novel with teenage angst, social problems and the horror of school days apparent. Mix in a murder in a small town of a young girl and the fear and sense of dread makes Broomsville a place you really wouldn’t want to go to if it were real.
