Why a Booktrail?

2000s: Shane doesn’t just want to enjoy Dublin’s nightlife – he’s wants to be at its centre
Shane gets a grant to go to college, but drops out and uses the money to buy some cocaine, which he sells. He finds he has a knack for the trade, and is soon enjoying boom-time Dublin’s nightlife with rolls of cash. He meets Elizabeth and they fall in love. But rival dealers become a threat, the police start nosing around, and Elizabeth turns out to have a dangerous ex-boyfriend. The pressure on Shane builds, and the good times end for him, giving way to paranoia, fear and a violent, climactic ending.
You wouldn’t want to booktrail half of the places in this book – unless you are as reckless as the characters, so why not see Dublin’s bars from a healthier and more legal perspective?
The main centre of town is where some of the best bars and clubs are from Capel Street to O’Connell Bridge:
Fitzsimons Temple Bar – traditional pub
The Stag’s Head – Victorian pub
The Blind Pig Speakeasy – Cocktail bar
