Bank holiday #Booksnaps
There’s something delicious about a bank holiday in August – it should be sunny and allow for a weekend and an extra day at the beach OR if all else fails, a window seat with a view and the rain lashing down is also good. The following Booksnaps will make you experience and feel the former wherever you are….
Ronnie Turner, Queen of the Book Snaps is back with more snaps to fuel your bookish filled weekend…..
3 snaps with snap reviews… a book a day keeps the boredom away…..
What do you need for a beach reading session? Some music, a nice comfy towel and a nice cool drink….so get those toes in the sand and wiggle on…Get the music started with this gem of a read.
Which songs would be on the soundtrack of YOUR life?
Ronnie: The Versions of Us was a book that blew me away. The characters, the structure, the prose, everything was utterly marvellous. And Greatest Hits for me is just as good if not better! I loved this novel! This is an unforgettable tale of love, loss and the journey we go on to come to terms with our mistakes. Lyrical, enchanting and beautiful. A novel to treasure!
Booktrail: What a lovely and unique idea for a novel – the story of your life told through song. A homage to British music and the British music scene of the 1960s and 1970s.
BOOKTRAIL: Greatest Hits
Next.. sit yourself on a blue towel so you blend in, no one sees you and so no one bothers your reading..
Ronnie: Chris Whitaker creates characters as real as your very own friends, places as real are the town you live in and plots that make you marvel at the sheer genius of the mind behind it all. Chris Whitaker could write just about anything and I’d want to read it. Intricately plotted and beautifully written, All the Wicked Girls is spectacular. I can’t recommend it highly enough. A wonderfully dark, gripping, nuanced novel. I loved it!
Booktrail: Totally agree! I shall never quite forget that opening chapter. I might even have snorted lemonade such was the effect it had on me. Bl**dy funny Mr Whit – taker. Apt name I see.

Now a boat ride out to an island perhaps?
Ronnie: I Know My Name provides a very refreshing take on the psychological thriller. An expertly plotted and beautifully told story that looks at how the mind copes with the darkness that hides away in a person’s past. Emotive and intriguing, this is a book that will utterly consume your time.
Booktrail: And didn’t you think you read the blurb, expected one thing and got a lovely surprising twist! And that island!! Imagine finding someone washed up on the island where you’re holidaying and they’re confused and only know their name. I loved the premise.
