As for the characters – well there’s even Balinese pigs, snakes and other critters of less obvious . But it’s the landscape and climate that shine – mountains , the area around her Bali home and especially the paddy fields used for rice farming. Quite a guide around a country and region you might have been to but you certainly won’t have lived it like this author. There are certain things that a tourist would never see, not like a native or like someone who has lived and breathed the Balinese air like Cat has.
