But Louie has been secretly practising her act – tightrope-walking – and dreams of being the Girl Who Walked on Air . . . she just needs to be given the chance to shine.

Smells of horse sweat and gingerbread filled the air, There was music to, the organ and drums all fast and furious, signaling the show was about to start. It was the bit of circus life I loved best, that moment before the action,when the very air tingled.

October 24th 1901 – Annie Taylor was the first person to conquer the falls in a barrel.
July 25th 1911 – Bobby Leach plunged over the Falls in a steel barrel.He survived but broke both kneecaps and his jaw during his daring event. However that’s not what eventually killed him – it was the complications from a fall on an orange peel much later on!
