The name of an Italian island is on that necklace and so she heads off on a whim. What she finds there will change her opinions and her life for ever.
A fictional Italian island in the Mediterranean situated between Corsica and Sardinia. It’s described as really isolated and not at alll easy to get to. Ideal for someone who likes nature and the wilderness.
People there are all bilingual too apparently.
She comes across a community of women living in a crumbling convent, under threat from the local mayor and his new development plan. The convent’s dark corridors and secret doors leads Elettra to discover a connection to her mother’s past.
This is the island where she can fall in love again: with friendship, baking and adventure.
There’s plenty of Italian recipes in this novel – from Gelee al limone to dishes of all delectable descriptions!
