Travel Guide

Formentera

The island with secrets and stories to share…It sounds a lovely atmospheric place

“The air smelt like the ocean, wild rosemary and that first whisper of summer.”

At first she docks at the port of La Savinia which teems with vars and tourists. The house is located in the remote area of Can Morroig where the story behind the story of the island can really be found..(spoiler in the author note below)

SPOILER…

The author note mentions that there the idea of a secret Jewish Community on the island came from a researcher, Gloria Mound, who believed that one existed from around the 15th century after the Spanish explusion order of the Jews during the Inquisition, up until the Spanish Civil war.

There does seem to have been a secret synagogue in a building in the Can Morraig area of the island (North western edge) where cetain Hebrew Documents were

Booktrailer Review

Susan: @thebooktrailer

A lovely story set on a magical island. Formentera is not an island I’d read or even thought about much to be honest but it’s a lovely place if this book is anything to go by!

I want to live in Marisal. It sounds gorgeous and what a story that house has. There’s something very nice about seeing a house over two time periods with different inhabitants and stories swirling about it. The story in the past was so much more appealing to me but the overall effect is very nicely done.

Light in some places, more layered in others, I enjoyed my time in Formentera. I hoped it would bring out the sun for real and it did! See, books really are portable magic.
