2000s: It all starts and ends on Grave Island….
When Philip Hennessey is thrown out of army intelligence after evidence is fabricated against him, his ex-wife’s school friend asks him to investigate the sudden death of her father, who she thinks has been murdered.
Philip soon discovers a far larger problem: a lethal trade in the manufacture and distribution of counterfeit drugs.
Using his contacts within the intelligence agencies, he follows the trail across the world, chasing counterfeit vaccines that could kill thousands.
Pitted against an international conspiracy, can Philip prevent the fake medicines getting through, and who can he really trust?
The novel opens in Afghanistan and soon moves to the streets of London where the story and mystery centre around the MHRA and the various meeting places in the capital.
A few short visits to Mumbai but its Grave Island which is most interesting to the plot…

The rising sun threw long, intricate shadows onto the narrow street which were busy even at this time and the balconies nearly closed over me, forming an arch of intricate wooden trellis work.
It’s a place where men and woman wear tradition dress such as white full-length robes and women in chadors.
A real place where they make their drugs and where they bury their dead.
Grave Island is located, just off the coast. The islands here are kept as nature reserves we are told.
