Palm Beach Finland

Palm Beach is not a real place but is a rural seaside town with views across to Tallinn on a summer’s day.

“The Entire resort, which Jornwa Leivo had also renamed and completely rebranded, was shrouded in a garish glow: the buildings by the shore, the restaurant , the chalets an d changing booths, The shop, the windsurfing rental facilities, even the pizzeria.Everything gleamed with a fresh coat of fresh paint. The sign itself measured twenty metres by five metres; passers by were positively blinded by its bright neon colours, its monolithic lettering and slogan. Given it’s location, it was probably visible as far away as Tallinn.”

“Palm trees, freshly painted. Plastic of course, but still”

Someone holds a drawing of a painting in front of him as he looks at Palm Beach resort.

The drawing depicted a pink flamingo which, once it was completed, would stand almost thirty metres tall. The flamingo’s head would house a deck with panoramic views opening up to Helsinki and, on a clear day, al the way to Estonia. The deck would also be the starting point for the longest, highest an best water slide in Finland”

Booktrailer Review

Susan @thebooktrailer

Is it wrong that I really want to visit this Palm Beach even though its fictional and sit on an inflatable flamingo?

Antti has one wicked sense of humour and this is no more apparent than in this book. It’s dark, humourous and darkly humourous.

Palm Beach Finland is a destination you’ll want to have on your literary boarding pass this summer!
