What you need to know before your trail

Maggie and her boyfriend Leo are heading off to the slopes with a group of his friends.  a bit of a Bridget Jones kind of girl, she’s hoping for romance and hot chocolate on the slopes but  that’s not the way things start out at all!

Jenny is the one single girl in the group who loves a bit of a flirt and will flirt with anyone who takes her fancy or not as the case may be.

A ski trip could well be an amazing adventure in a stunning landscape with the love of her life, or it could be one disaster after another….

Travel Guide

Nicola Doherty is a masterful painter of the perfect holiday destinations. First Paris, then LA and now the third book in the series takes us all the way to Meribel. We’ve never been but well we spent a bit of time there with Maggie and that was almost the same thing!

Maggie, the young hopeless romantic sees the snow covered landscapes, the log cabins and the  rugged mountains as heaven and indeed for the skiing virgin that is Maggie….. but there is a lot more action off piste that will warm your heart more than the hot chocolate she speaks of.

What could be more romantic than spending my one year anniversary with Leo in the French alps? Well the purchase of tampons doesn’t bode well, but once Meribel comes into view everything changes…kind of…

“Meribel is adorable, full of wooden chalets and little winding streets knee deep in snow”

And the wonders of Meribel continue…

“Glamourous looking people in full -length puffa jackets and fur coats, a jam of Mercs and foreign plated BMWs…”

If you’v ever spent time in a ski resort in France, there’s a lot you’ll feel familiar with and that you will recognise with Brits abroad – Twinnings tea in your suitcase anyone? Vin chaud or Coca light? The soft baby fine snow, the chill of the wind and alpine air on your face.. oh and the raclette and the frites.. Did we say we  were transported there with this book? Leo and Maggie’s adventures are a tale of how snowy landscapes can be romantic and the ski world provides a lot of fun and games. Not to mention the hunky Sylvain…
