What you need to know before your trail

Madeleine Frost has to get away. Her partner Liam has become increasingly controlling to the point that Maddie fears for her safety, and that of her young daughter Poppy. .
Desperation leads Maddie to the hotel owned by her estranged father – the extraordinarily beautiful Wrea Head Hall in Yorkshire. There, she meets Christopher ‘Bandit’ Lawless, an ex-marine and the gamekeeper of the hall, whose brusque manner conceals a painful past.

After discovering a diary belonging to a previous owner, Maddie and Bandit find themselves immersed in the history of the old house, uncovering its secrets, scandals, tragedies – and, all the while, becoming closer.
But Liam still won’t let go, he wants Maddie back, and when Liam wants something he gets it, no matter who he hurts …

Travel Guide

Wrea Hall Hotel, Yorkshire

The author loves Wrea Hall and makes this very clear in her acknowledgements, but she says that she immediately wanted to use it in a novel as it’s that inspiration and nice! She credits the owners Mr Gerald Aburrow and Dr Mark Giles, the true owners of the Hall for allowing its starring role in this novel.

Lynda says:

“It’s my favourite place to go in England, I always feel very spoiled when I say there. It’s a fantastic hotel, with the most beautiful food, open log fires and exquisite rooms. The whole team at Wrea Head Hall makes every visit the most wonderful experience and I’d encourage anyone to go and stay…you won’t be disappointed!”

Look how it sounds in the book…

“Madeline drove through the stone gated entrance , past the gatehouse and up the long and extensive driveway towards the huge gothic building that was Wrea Head Hall. She’s looked the property up on the internet, but still the sight of it took her breath away as she rounded the corner. It was like an exquisite piece of Victorian history that had been left behind for the twenty-first century to appreciate an admire.”
