Having waddled his way to the Galapagos Islands, he arrives in paradise – and warmth. finally he can take off his hat! He makes new friends, some strangely coloured (diving birds with blue feet) and ones which walk funny (tap dancing crabs) and finally he feels as if he is where he belongs!

Haha this is so cute for so many reasons. The pictures are gorgeous and Wally just practically jumps off the page. I just loved the message too of being different and welcoming those differences and finding the joy in making new friends who are different to you. I read it to my young cousin and to be honest I’m not sure who was taken with it more – me or her! We love Wally in this house now and this is such a charming book. Isabel has a toy penguin and it used to wear a hat – it’s been taken off now. Guess he’s gone to join Wally in the warmer climes. Shows you how books can have an influence! I also learned something too as I’d never heard of the blue footed birds who live in this parts before. I then googled them to see what they looked like. Now that is a powerful book!
