Interesting take on two locations and cultures here. The locations don’t feature very strongly and are backdrops to the action. However the cultures of the two countries has a lot of bearing on the flavour of the novel and the culture of the married couple. The chapters set in India helps to show the relationship and marriage of the couple, their interests and life.
