Travel throughout history
Travel throughout history
Throughout history, human beings have been fascinated by travel. From the earliest days of hunting and gathering, to the first journeys across land and sea, to modern advances in space exploration, we have always wanted to know more and do more. This book celebrates the accomplishments that humans have made in the field of travel and poses the question: where next?
The book is divided into four sections -Adventures on water, land,ice/snow and man and machine.
Travel has indeed changed greatly since the first explorers ventured out on foot, with basic equipment and few supplies. Now, the world is filled with technology and more, yet the sense of wanderlust remains the same. It’s that sense of wanting to find out what lies ahead, what culture lies over that border, what trees grow in the desert, what sunrise we will never forget. The sense of freedom, of wanting to see a new land, new place, a familiar place in a new way never leaves those with wanderlust in their blood.
