The Guilty Party

The Guilty Party

Why a Booktrail?

2000s: You did nothing. That doesn’t mean you’re innocent.

What you need to know before your trail

On a night out, four friends witness a stranger in trouble. They decide to do nothing to help.

Later, a body washes up on the banks of the Thames – and the group realises that ignoring the woman has left blood on their hands.

But why did each of them refuse to step in? Why did none of them want to be noticed that night? Who is really responsible?

And is it possible that the victim was not really a stranger at all?

Travel Guide

Travel to BookTrail locations in London’s Wapping

Given the nature of the book, this is not a booktrail one as such but it does take place ina nice area of London with plenty of history and architecture.

Wapping

Wonderful London describes Wapping Old Stairs as “one of liveliest spots in the country” in the great days of the maritime Thames. There are many stairs with names of famous kings or with maritime names around this area. Further along Wapping High Street you will come across King Henry’s Stairs for example. Although these historic riverside rights of way are supposed to have been preserved, many of them have fallen into decay or disrepair.

Weymouth and Portland

A more sedate place over in Dorset. The Isle of Portland is south of Weymouth and measures 4 miles long by 1.7 miles wide, sticking out into the English Channel. A barrier beach called Chesil Beach joins it to the mainland.
