Travel Guide

Travel BookTrail style around Whitley Bay

Danielle’s books are all set in and around Whitley Bay and they don’t show the view that the tourist boards would have you see and hear. This is a gritty seaside town, once much -loved and now sadly faded and neglected. In real life, this is not the case – there’s been a lot of regeneration around the town and there are now fine wine bars, hotels and a nice boardwalk.

The Whitley Bay in the novel is one where crime walks and where bad guys live. The promenade is a place to visit where the night clubs and hotels in the novels are, and further along the coast, there’s the Victorian villas on the corner between Whitley Bay and Tynemouth are to be found. Brady lives here. Not bad for a fictional character’s home and the views are amazing!
