The Cotswolds seems like an ideal place for a quiet stroll and wander doesn’t it? Well, maybe not….
Agatha Raisin joins the local hiking club but not for the enjoyment of the lovely Cotswold landscape – no she is going undercover as only Agatha can. There has been a murder of a local hiker who was a bit of a firebrand and who rubbed up many a local landowner the wrong way so the list of suspects is as long as a country walk in the cotswolds. Dembley may be fictional but what happens there is very real in Agatha’s world!
Not only has Agatha a crime to solve however, she is going undercover by pretending to be married to James. Now that is going to cause some fireworks too!
You’d be forgiven for thinking that a walk in the cotswolds would be rather nice and quiet but there’s lots of anger amongst those innocent looking ramblers!
Who would have though that the walkers could cause so much trouble! Jessica for one is a militant who enjoys taking the walkers of Dembley into one confrontation after another! She pens a challenge to one local resident, a landowner by the name of Charles Fraith and is then invited to tea at his grand house. He has land and fields that the walkers want to use.
Before she (Jessica) had somehow declared herself leader of the Dembley walkers, they had been a chatty inoffensive group of people who enjoyed their weekend rambles”
