2000s: A man disappears from an island…
In the close-knit local community, there are no secrets, except what happened to Max. None of the police or private investigations since have shed any light on what happened the night he went missing, presumed dead.
But there is one man who is yet to take on the case: The Sea Detective.
Cal McGill is an oceanographer and unique investigator who uses his knowledge of tides, winds and currents to solve mysteries no-one else can.
However, Cal is an unwelcome stranger who must navigate the tensions between Max’s inconsolable father, the broken family he has neglected, and the embittered locals, resentful after years of suspicion.
As Cal arrives, a violent storm approaches, threatening to completely cut off the island, with a possible murderer at large…
Priest’s Island
The island in the Outer Hebrides where Max Wheeler spends the night camping. This is a storm-tossed island and there’s no one else on the island – certainly no residents as no one lives here. This is actually a playground that his father has bought for him to camp on and to enjoy as he sees fits. Of course the islanders from nearby Eilean Dubh aren’t happy about that! They and their families have used the island for many years as fields for grazing animals.
Eilean Dubh
Ewan who lives on this island becomes the number one suspect for the disappearance since he was due to inherit the island if the rich Wheeler family hadn’t got in there earlier.
Both very remote locations, angry seas, unpredicatable weather and a dangerous current – in the air as well as the sea…
