Why a Booktrail?

As a freak ice storm moves in to Algonquin Bay, North Ontario, it spurs a smart and powerful killer to commit the perfect crime over and over again.
A gruesome discovery in the wilderness here leads detectives John Cardinal and Lisa Delorme to a remote cabin that has served as an abattoir for a cold-blooded killer…
But the woods hide other horrors and soon a second body is discovered, naked and shrouded in ice. One of the victims is soon identified as an American, the Mounted Police are called in, but it’s not as if the Canadians are any more trusted. Just who or what is behind all of this?
Algonquin Bay may be fictional yet it is thinly disguised as North Bay – with main streets and locations clearly being those of North Bay. What a fantastic remote and unique area to visit!
Blunt retains the names of major streets and the two lakes (Trout Lake and Lake Nipissing) that the town sits between, the physical layout of the two places is the same. He also describes Algonquin Bay as being in the same geographical location as North Bay, so it’s pretty much the same place which is ideal for booktrailing!
Places which are only thinly disguised in novel always hold a particular fascination with us as it’s as if you can really hold the novel up to the area and streets in question and wonder just what is true and what isn’t. Somewhere which has inspired the author is particularly unique and is more than a regular setting. It’s as if the location has two identities…well to us anyway.
