What you need to know before your trail

Susannah rushes into marriage to a young and wealthy surgeon. After a passionate honeymoon, she returns home with her new husband wrapped around her little finger. But then everything changes. His behaviour becomes increasingly volatile and violent. He stays out all night, returning home bloodied and full of secrets.

Lonely and frustrated, Susannah starts following the gruesome reports of a spate of murders in Whitechapel. But as the killings continue, her mind takes her down the darkest path imaginable. Every time her husband stays out late, another victim is found dead.

Is it coincidence? Or is he the man they call Jack the Ripper?

Travel Guide

Travel to the London of Jack the Ripper

Allow the author to take you around the slums and cobbled streets of Victorian London. This is a London of two sides – the Whitechapel where a murderer is stalking the streets, and Chelsea where the couple in the novel find a house.

Most of the novel is set in Whitechapel at the time of the Jack the Ripper murders. Could this wife’s husband be responsible? Imagine wondering if the person you’re closest too could be responsible for such an horrific series of killings?

Whitechapel is one cess pit of squalor. The streets are made up of doss houses and poverty. There’s pubs, warehouses, abandoned buildings and the odd brothel or two. People here are from both sides of the tracks – the rich and well-to-do seem to come along and see the crime scenes when the Ripper has been only a short time prior….
