Oxford – oh the spires and the academic setting is well evoked and there’s lots to see in Oxford!
Redditch, Dittisham, Swindon come next, followed by Bath which has a lovely literary setting and this brings out the character’s love of books.
London‘s posh St Pancras hotel is evoked in the style to which it is accustomed – someone in the novel stays here.
