This book was vividly magical in so many ways. I’ve not had quite the same reaction to a book in a while.  The setting really added to the story and enhanced what was already a strong premise. We are immediately drawn into a tiny village nestled in the cliffs along the Moray Firth and it’s a joy to behold. The stage is set with the most stunning of backgrounds from the beginning and it’s set for a really good story….

Scotland is beautiful and Anna thinks this and so head north for a fresh start from her life in London. She has had relationship problems andher father has recently died so she needs this change more than most. She arrives for that fresh start but it’s not easy from the start. The house where she’s living is not what she thought and the new neighbours aren’t exactly the Waltons. There are wobbles and Anna wonders if she has made a big mistake. However, before she quits, the place and the people really start to have an effect on her and in a good way. Unexpected ways too.

I enjoyed this story is so many ways. Anna makes many friends and she starts to open up and meet people and opportunities she didn’t expect. Not so sure about someone in particular but this adds to the overall challenges Anna has. Despite it all, she soon starts to allow Crovie and get under her skin which is good as she definately gets under the skin of the village and community. It’s not all a bed of roses though as you mind expect. There’s storms of all kinds but then there’s light relief in the form of a dolphin family. There’s so many happy things that this book brings out such as reasons to enjoy life, and take joy from the little things. It’s a lovely read and Crovie should have this as an official guide book.
