There’s a saying that it takes you half the time you’ve been in a relationship with someone to get over them when you break up. Not that Ben and Rebecca ever have had to test that theory: they’ve been together for what seems like forever, seem perfectly matched in every way. Ben is kind and thoughtful, Rebecca is fun and spontaneous. Neither of them are expecting to find that an encounter with the past could be the one thing that could threaten their perfect world. Ben is a dark horse, saying that he’s spent a year drinking Thai whisky from a bucket, having stayed on Mount Koya in Japan. He’s adventurous but then later admits on a visit to Beachy Head that he’s a little scared of heights. Their life is one of parties, possibly moving in together, two young people enjoying their time in London, whether it’s being amazed at living in the big city, sampling and enjoying it as much as they can – from the food to the cable cars at Victoria docks.
This is not just your normal young couple in London – this is a guy and a girl, written by a guy and a girl, alternate chapters and so alternate voices, giving a no holds barred, unbiased account of what went right and wrong. There are two sides to every story and this London is one of parties, young love, new restaurants, flirting, dating, a sex and the city style of party lifestyle. Quirky, young fresh and daring.
