A Newcastle City Christmas Book Guide

A Newcastle city Christmas book guide

I love the build up to Christmas with all the books sparkling in the shops, the Christmas trees with books on them and the enticing book shops with their magical windows.

Newcastle upon Tyne does Christmas really well. There are two cute markets and Waterstones pulls out all the stops to showcase the magical titles on offer.

Just around the corner stands Fenwicks department store which is almost as magical if the window this year is anything to go by. The popular children’s book character Clarence Bean takes over the windows and tells the story of what it is like to celebrate Christmas with books, family and festive cheer.

The illustrations from the book are brought to life in the storywindows and it’s a delight to behold.

Moving back past Waterstones and around the corner…we have the magical Christmas market. What a lovely place! Wooden stalls selling crafts and food from around the world.

Reindeers at Newcastle Christmas market

There’s a really cosy vibe here and there’s reindeer! Newcastle always does a great Christmas market and this year is no exception.

There’s a further market opposite Waterstones at the Monument so you get the Christmas aromas from the gluwein and the real Christmas music drafting in the doors as you book shop.

What could be more magical! Happy Christmas Book fans!
