The Last Passenger set on a cruise – Will Dean
Imagine going on a cruise. Lovely. You go to bed one night in your cosy cabin and dream sweets dreams. You wake up however to discover that the ship seems to be deserted. There is no one around. It is still storming ahead as usual but then you see the windows where the captain should be on the bridge steering the whole thing…..and there is no one there either.
Tension ramped up big time.

When I first read this book, I remember commenting on social media saying that Will Dean really was an evil genius after this ending. I still stand by that but thought I’d best write a review for the rest of the book as well.
The journey on the cruise ship is one I will never forget. I’ve been on small cruises but never one where you are days away at sea with no one to hear you scream. This might put a lot of people of ever getting on a cruise again to be honest.
Caz is the main and really only character in the book. She wakes up on a holiday to find her oartner gone and no one else on the ship. What the hell has happened? From that moment on, the tension ramps up and I swear Will manages to get her breathing and panic come across on each and every page. Even the pages were perspiring as I turned them.

Imagine then finding that there’s no crew and the ship seems to be cruising along in teh middle of the Atlantic on its own.Only you are on board. What would you do? I asked muself that a lot and to be honest, that is where the magic of the book lies. There’s one character trying to make sense of the impossible. Caz is every one of us. We feel her fear and add some of our own. The isolatation and the isolated location are just chilling when placed together in the hands of Will Dean.
There’s moments of disbelief, of course there is, but those just added to the thrill of this ride for me. The story heads into unchartered waters towards the end and I had no idea where Will was steering this. Then BOOM! haha he’d been the captain all along of course. The literary captain with a glint in his eye. Poor Caz, but readers rejoice!
