1921, 2023: On a quiet street in Dublin, a lost bookshop is waiting to be found…
For too long, Opaline, Martha and Henry have been the side characters in their own lives.
But when a vanishing bookshop casts its spell, these three unsuspecting strangers will discover that their own stories are every bit as extraordinary as the ones found in the pages of their beloved books. And by unlocking the secrets of the shelves, they find themselves transported to a world of wonder… where nothing is as it seems.
Dublin to Paris and Haworth
Dublin
The bookshop that may or may not exist stands in Ha’penny lane in Dublin. Now this appears to be fictional ( the lane or the shop?) and so the map points to the bridge of the same name. See if you find the shop from here….
The story is focused on Dublin and the cobbled streets, the libraries and bookish places they look for clues. Pen Corner, the iconic shop that Henry takes Martha too, seems to have closed down. Do they know about this?
Paris
Oh to be in Paris and to work at the iconic Shakespeare and Company! This shop is known as a haven for wanderers and Orpaline goes here to hide but ends up finding something and someone who will have a lasting effect on her. Sylvia who first opened the sthop appears as a character in the book!
There’s flea markets and literary references scattered all over these sections of the story.
Bronte Parsonage, Haworth
There’s the excitement of amissing manuscript that they say Emily Bronte wrote and so THIS is the place where the family lived after all, so the investigations in the novel take them here. If there are any papers or clues to be had, you would hope to find them here, where the Brontes called home and where the landscapes they feature in their books is everywhere for you to inhale.
