Although there are no real locations in the book to speak of, the novel evokes a ‘Lost-type’ plot that keeps building momentum with every page. A very surreal and unusual novel inspired by the lush green landscapes of Ecuador.
All places are fictional yet so evocative of the landscape of a wild and exciting travel destination in a fictional country in South America –
Agua Sagrad – where the grave of Oswaldo Joven is thought to be
Puerto Seco – where villa Pacifica is said to be located. it is a fishing vilage
Cloud Forest – an artisan comunity in the cloud forest hills
Oswaldo Joven is mentioned as being a painter who painted the Three lives of Mikel – the painting which inspired the journey
Manteno national park – a dry tropicl forest
The concept of Weather anomolies such as El Nino and wormholes are alluded to and explored in this novel and to an amazing affect!
