2000s: They’re locked up for your safety. Now, you’re locked in with them.
On a locked ward in the world’s highest-security prison hospital, a scream shatters the night.
A nurse has been murdered and her daughter has been taken.
And with only five days to find the girl, the clock is ticking for Dr Connie Woolwine to find a killer hiding in plain sight…
The Institution
No real location for this one except to say it’s in a mountainous and very remote area – on an island. It made me think of Alcatraz or the prison that Shutter Island was based on. Both of these are on the map. Many believe that the Institution is in Switzerland – plenty of mountains there.
You will never forget your time in the Institution – the long corridors, the empty rooms, the treatment rooms and the stench of madness…..
What a novel!
Tightly plotted, graphically evoked and characters I was afraid of. This is hardcore crime bordering on horror. There are some very grim moments but I could not keep my eyes of the pages. Raced through it , my heart beating in my chest. That first chapter is not one I am going to forget in a hurry. Wowzers!
