As every parent knows, it’s hard when your child has an accident and when they do at school and you’re not there to comfort them at first, well that must be even harder.
Maddie and Joanna are devastated when Maddie’s son Ben falls in the school playground and ends up in a coma. Joanna’s son Josh was playing with him at the time and so the two families become linked in their grief. But when a second tragedy strikes, the two families discover that the truth is often very hard to bear and that sometimes the only question left to answer is why?

One boy ends up with brain damage and the other one won’t speak about what happened. There are questions over who is exactly to blame as there would be if such an accident happened in any school and it’s the emotional fallout from this, for any parent which is very hard to read at times. That’s before the two families and their backgrounds come to light!
