Packing for a literary holiday
Packing for a literary holiday
You have to pack well when you go on a literary holiday in real life. This is a handy guide to help you pack well and pack in time.
PORTABLE BOOKCASES
First, a suitcase should have wheels. When you go, you need to have room enough for clothes and toiletries. On the way back, you need enough room for books and when you fill a suitcase full of books, then you need wheels to help you get the books home. Plenty of pockets for last minute purchases from the bookshop or shops at the airport.
BOOKMARK STORAGE FACILITY
Don’t dismiss a drinking cup as only being something you drink out of. Great to keep bookmarks you find, buy or are given without them getting bent. You of course can drink out of it during your holiday and transport the bookmarks in it when travelling.
BOOK STAND
There are certain items that people use as neck supports on planes, but to be fair, they also double up as a handy book stand. Good for the beach and particularly handy for a kindle. If you have a real book however, you can wedge stones in the sand to keep the pages open.
LET THERE BE LIGHT
One of these little beauties is essential. I mean, you might travel at night or want to see the place you are visiting when it’s night time – you need one of these handy lights.
READ ON THE MOVE
Either take a scooter and balance the book on the handlebars or get yourself a segway and hold the book as you glide along. Actually both of these methods might be quite dangerous so best not, but if only you could!
It’s all about not letting your day to day activities get in the way of your reading. Happy Literary Holidays!
