Well this is magical and full of wonderful Irish folklore – fairies and all the wonder of that world and it’s truly wonderful.

After reading The Lost Bookshop and totally raving about that, I gobbled this up. It’s very clever. Not just a magical tale but one which totally and utterly immerses you inside its world.

There are two timelines – we have Anna in the past where the story starts an. Anna is a farm girl and is tasked with helping a mysterious American write about the Irish fairies that live in these parts. The modern day timeline is about a girl called Sarah reading a journal….and the threads start to weave their magic. Honestly, it’s like watching elves weaving gold.

This was a wonderful way of telling such a story – Evie has this way of making me forget where I am. This is what reading is all about right? Escaping and falling down that rabbit hole into a whole other world. I don’t even want to tell you more about the plot other than to say it made me smile, curl up and get all cosy but not want to close my eyes in case a fairy actually escaped from the pages, danced past me and I missed it.
