Bookshop Highlight – Tills
Bookshop Highlight – Tills
The bookshop of note for November is the rather wonderful Tills in Edinburgh. Second hand books in this store and some very expensive books in glass cases. Treasures! in other words. You never know what you are going to find here and that is the attraction.
Just look at the stunner….
What I loved about this store
It felt very vintage and ‘Shop Around the Corner’
There were wooden chairs and tables outside making it look cute before you even went inside
There is a wooden chair with a soft cushion on
Notice the bits and bobs stuck to the wall, for there is a lovely story behind them…..
Tables, bookcases, potting plants and all manner of knick knacks. There was also a gorgeous book scent in this shop – fresh like flowers and nature in the warm summer nights.
Do you know what the main scent was…..the possibility of ADVENTURE!
What a treasure trove? Talking of treasure, if you have pieces of gold, you might be able to afford one of the books in the glass case… The book In Cold Blood you see in the case was an original and I think, signed? £900. Totally worth it! But not in my budget today sadly.
This was my favourite part of the shop – that chair! Ah I could have stayed there forever. What was really neat here was the story behind the objects on the wall. The bookshop owner told me that they would stick on the walls, all the tickets and notes etc they found in books. What a lovely thing to do! A good idea for a novel surely!?
This bookshop made me smile in so many ways. It has character, warmth and it’s full of suprises. Just go here when you can – recommended!
