Summer, 1584. The Protestant Prince William of Orange has been assassinated by a fanatical Catholic, and there are whispers that Queen Elizabeth will be next. Fear haunts the streets of London, if the plague doesn’t kill them first.
Giordano Bruno wants to find the culprit – but he has problems of his own – someone is following him through the city. Confronting his stalker, he realizes it is the woman he once loved – she is on the run, having been accused of murder.
Bruno travels to Canterbury to help clear her name, but he is drawn into the heart of a sinister conspiracy …….

Spitalfields market in London was a particular place in London where we found reading the book really brought a chill down our spine – it just has that feel to it and with your head in the book , you can see and hear the call of the market just in front of you.
