What you need to know before your trail

In the pretty and tranquil market town of Kirkluce rumours of a large superstore being developed nearby is getting the goat of many of the residents. The younger ones seem quite keen but the older ones with history and businesses are not happy and the divide is getting bigger. Things take a nasty turn when a dead sheep is found in the middle of the street and there’s a nasty atmosphere around town.

An old man is suddenly gunned down on his doorstep, then a woman is terrorised. And that’s before a seemingly random shooting takes place. But this series of events is not random at all and DI Fleming feels that there is more to all of this than meets the eye.

Travel Guide

Kirkluce (fictional)

Galloway Constabulary in set in the fictional town of Kirkluce. There is also a village called Glenluce which could also have inspired the setting if not the name.

This could be any setting in Dumfries and GAlloway to be fair as it’s the story of a small village going through some very turbleunt times and having problems keeping its citizens as united as they once were. The outside world in encroaching in and new developments are cuasing problems for everyone. The divide between young and old and newcomers and locals is sending ripples from one village to another and is none more keenly felt than in  Kirkluce
