The ghosts of Moffat do include the Haunted Ram and have been documented in many sources in history.
The well is real but Yellow Mary isn’t – or at least she’s not recorded in history but just in the author’s mind.
The Moffat Hydro was real until it was burned down in 1921 but for the sake of the novel, it’s lifespan and spooky history has been extended.
