Rolf Lidberg Jonas was an artist and botanist as well as author and in his books he was keen to paint and write about the Trolls and their interaction with the world.

He painted many water colours and depicted the trolls as being at once with nature. They were very human like and would pick berries and teach their children about the magic of nature.

The trolls were said to live close to Sweden’s Indal river.
