2000s: Which are you – good or bad?
Annie’s mother is a serial killer.
The only way she can make it stop is to hand her in to the police.
But out of sight is not out of mind.
As her mother’s trial looms, the secrets of her past won’t let Annie sleep, even with a new foster family and name – Milly.
A fresh start. Now, surely, she can be whoever she wants to be.
But Milly’s mother is a serial killer. And blood is thicker than water.
Good me, bad me.
She is, after all, her mother’s daughter…
Foster homes, prisons and the darkest recesses of a young girl’s mind
There are no locations as such although the girl does live in London for a while and sees the sights. the anonymous settings such as the school and the houses she goes to are understandably fictional since this is a novel which is like going into a concrete cellar so you loose all track of where you are and which day it is. Or the feeling you have when you are on a rollercoaster at a fairground and just when you think you’re on level ground, they shove you down and off a cliff, and bring you up just before you land on the ground.
