2000s: Beware of the caretaker of this macabre museum.
A psychopath more frightening than Hannibal Lecter.
He has planned well. He leads two lives. In one he’s just like anyone else. But in the other he is the caretaker of his family’s macabre museum.
Now the time has come to add to his collection. He is ready to feed his obsession, and he is on the hunt.
Jakey Frith and Clara Foyle have something in common. They have what he needs.
What begins is a terrifying cat-and-mouse game between the sinister collector, Jakey’s father and Etta Fitzroy, a troubled detective investigating a spate of abductions.
A monster prowling the streets after his next prey. Never before have the streets of Blackheath seemed so dark and creepy. Just who is this man and why does he want his prey? Small innocent children skipping home from school. Awful. This man is on the hunt for trophies for his sick, macabre museum.
There is mention and references to Bloody/Raw Bones – the classic bogeyman who is believed to live near ponds, but anywhere in the shadows really – under the stairs or under the bed…
He was called Raw Bones as he used to sit crouched on old bones that had belonged to children who told lies or said bad words…
The National History museum was a great place of reference and discovery during this novel. It showcases much of what is investigated in this tale of horror.
