Astrid and best friend Nicole are 12 years old and have done everything together for as long as they can remember. But Astrid soon falls in love with the roller derby and signs up to join the camp. Nicole decides to go to dance camp instead.
And so begins the most difficult summer of Astrid’s life as she struggles to keep up with the older girls at camp, hang on to the friend she feels slipping away, and wonder if she is strong enough to be every thing that a roller girl entails..
