Victoria Langley’s world crumbles when her husband leaves,so she heads off to Cornwall hoping for the promise of rest and relaxation that Cornwall is known for.
In the quaint, little village of Tregollan, Victoria is drawn not only to the stunning sea views, but also to the aptly named and very ramshackle Seafall Cottage, which she decides to buy.
Inside she finds a diary full of secrets, from 1905.She can’t quite believe the magic of finding this place with a secret diary no less and vows to solve the mystery of it all. However, the residents of Tregollan are tight-lipped about Tilly Asprey, the cottage’s last owner. However, Adam Waters, the lawyer handling the cottage’s sale, might just have the missing piece of the puzzle.
Tilly’s diary tells a devastating love story that mirrors Victoria’s own. Can Victoria learn from Tilly’s mistakes, and give herself a second chance at love? Or is history doomed to repeat itself?

Cornwall – Roseland Peninsula
Sadly Tregollan is fictional but is reminiscent of so many Cornish gems dotted in and around the region.
Tregollan is largely inspired by the Roseland Peninsula and no surprise when the see the gems here. Portscatho and Veryan are just two of the villages which inspired the author.

As for the Idyllwild daffodil farm – .sadly fictional but beautiful when you spot so many flowers growing wild on the rugged Cornish moors and cliffs. But you can enjoy something which is evoked in the novel -a lovely little cafe called Hidden Hut – reminds you of the hidden secrets and the stunning sand dunes and tucked away secrets in this part of the world

I would quite like to head to Tregollan and find myself a quiet sanctuary after reading this book.
As for the lovely Seafall cottage nestled in the sea cliffs – some say its haunted but that doesn’t put off our heroine. The villagers might not realise what this place really is and it’s going to take Victoria to find it all out.
Even before we get to the house and the story behind it, the story floats alone so nicely (sorry) set as it is on a houseboat. The story in the house community and oh that floating bookshop! At that point more than ever did I want Tregollan to be real.
The story with Victoria’s recovery from her marriage, her new start and that intriguing diary she finds…where she meets Tilly and her story – this also captivated me and it was like a Cornish Escape in a Cornish Escape. The ending wasn’t quite the escape I’d hoped for but the story and the Cornish capers throughout more than made up for that. Turns out there is a lot of mystery wrapped up in a ramshackle cottage set in the Cornish landscape.
