Long Beach
Long Beach is a coastal city and port in Southern California. There’s an old ship – RMS Queen Mary moored here which is also now a museum. As well as the sharks and the various traps which pop up in the novel, you can see some real sharks in the waterfront Aquarium of the Pacific. Of course, in the modern age of digital and social media, Long Beach is well known for posing people so no doubt a selfie or two here wouldn’t go amiss!
It’s often described as one ‘Giant playground’ which in this novel could not be further from the truth. From the impressive library at UCLA to the warm, sandy beaches of Long Beach, this is a search for a social media killer who targets the quiet beach towns and laid back places in the south of California.

Harbor region contains 13 communities and is an amalgamation of the port and harbor areas which were annexed to the independent cities of San Pedro and Wilmington became joined to the Port of Los Angeles.
