This might not be a booktrail but it’s a definite tour of the British criminal and justice system.Of one man and his defence. There are several courts in London but the central one, known as The Old Bailey is open for tours and trials so you really can get an insight into the criminal minds of the day.
This is the London of the gangs who pervade and dirty the streets with violence and threat. This one black man in the dock, stands accused of being a part of this world, and he gives a frightening and unbelievable realistic insight into the minds of gang members. The author is well versed to showcase these characters – he knows their language, their culture and their turf. There are many versions of a gang member – from the ‘Oldies’; those who have been living that life for years, and the ‘Tinies’; children who are used and infiltrated into that world and one day will become the Oldies.
