2000s: Imagine if you inherited an island off the west coast of Ireland and that you had to live there for a year in order to fully inherit…
When Darcy McCall loses her beloved Aunt Molly, she doesn’t expect any sort of inheritance, let alone a small island! Located off the west coast of Ireland, Tara hasn’t been lived on for years, but according to Molly’s will, Darcy must stay there for 12 months in order to fully inherit. It’s a big shock. And she’s even more shocked to hear that she needs to persuade a village full of people to settle there, too. Darcy has to leave behind her independent city life and swap stylish heels for muddy boots. Between sorting everything from the plumbing to the pub, Darcy meets confident, charming Conor and sensible, stubborn Dermot—but who will make her feel really at home?

The island of the west coast of Ireland which Darcy inherits (fictional isle of Tara) has no amenities and no comforts what she is used to . so roughing it is on the menu if none of her usual comforts are. She is used to a certain way of life and so living , no surviving on an island is not her idea of fun.
Now to see the kind of place That Darcy inherits, it’s clear that the island in question is the Great Blasket Island of the West coast and this spotted from the mainland will make you want to go and recreate Darcy’s journey there. Oh and she has to invite several other people to go and live there as well. Bear Grylls she is not.
The magical island setting is one which enhances the romantic magic of the story and makes her forget her love of high heels and makeup, for the magic of the place is hard to miss –
It’s your island, I did warn you there was more to this than mets the eye
This island is like a magnet for love
The island and its history, myths and legends played a major part in shaping the future of the islanders and as a fan of historical fiction I was pleased to see the author go into this in detail.
When I’m up there it feels like someone’s comforting me holding me even . I feel safe in fact that’s how this whole island makes me feel
