A killer stalks the streets of East London. All over the area, murdered young women are discovered, posed into a sickening recreation of fairytale princesses.
Detective Ruby Preston is determined to hunt down the monster responsible. But then body parts are found ….at the home of her lover, Nathan Crosby. Convinced that he is being framed, Ruby must catch the killer before Nathan becomes the number one suspect. But as more victims are found, it becomes harder to prove his innocence.
Can you ever really know the person you love?
East End London in and around Shoreditch is the setting for this grim series of crimes. The first girl is found in a very nice park with the police station only a little way away. There is also a delve into the underbelly of Whitechapel and the mention of Jack the Ripper, perhaps one of the most infamous serial killers to operate in the city let alone the East End
Ruby and Nathan had many special places dotted around London and the range was one of them. A far cry from what was offered to firearms officers in the Met,their meeting place was nothing more than a derelict building with thick concrete walls and smashed windows.
The city’s soundtrack:
“In London such sounds were part of the cacophony of life. People noticed less in the city. Plugged into the latest technology, like automatons, they filtered from work to the tubes”
