A Little competition…

  • Submitted: 5th October 2018

Want to know a  secret? Little is the new Big. It’s an amazing read and tells the true story, in fictionalised form of course, of the woman who would eventually open a certain wax work museum in London….Madame Tussaud…

The novel is full of gothic, gory delights, of people cutting up body parts, making body parts and sketching them….

The level of detail in the novel is very impressive but never does it get in the way of the plot…this is the story of the discovery of wax works and how one woman would become fascinated by it and lead her to dissect her own life and model the faces of others…

The world of creating body parts, studying them and why wax works were even used is a thrilling journey to go on. Who would have known the true story of this amazing museum now? How do they get the models so accurate? How do they do the hair, the eyes, the wrinkles?

Marie Tussaud had quite a life – and it’s all brilliantly brought to life in this book. One woman’s work and skill, her fascination with the human body and her determined perseverance…..led to this….
