BookTrail Travel to London, with Love

Nick and Jennifer are the couple at the heart of this novel – they go on a jouney towards love, that;s for sure!  So many hits and misses in their quest for finding love. Whats fun about this novel however is the way we, travel with them through the nostalgia and culture of a city and country moving through musical trends, world events and more besides.

If this were a film, I imagine the opening credits of a conveyor belt of images of events, a time line of locations and quotes that colour their relationship.  I don’t often read a lot of romance as it can be cheesy but this got it very right indeed.

We follow Jenny from her teenage years through to adulthood as she navigates life in London alongside (and often very much apart from) her best friend Nick.

As well as being a love story, this is a  love letter to London. The city’s streets, the flavour, the music and culture. It’s soaked in nostagia in the aromas, music and emotions of the time. Jenny grows up and we see a lt through her eyes. By the end I considered her a real friend and was sad to leave her and Nick behind.

This is a novel of friendship and love. A novel which takes you through the years and gets you with two people who grow apart, grow together and their life threads form the most nostalgic picture of London life over the years I have ever read.
