Back to School for Bookworms

September back to school for bookworms

There’s a line in the movie You Got Mail  that goes “Don’t you love New York in the fall?” …”It makes me want to buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address.”

That is how bookworms feel about the new back to school season. We buy new books, notebooks and pencils, stationary of all descriptions as there’s something magical about a new start, a new reading season. I get excited of the new book season, the books I am going to read cuddled up on the sofa, imagining that I have a roaring fire in front of me and a cat at my feet. Or be tucked up in a nook in the wall, a bed perhaps and lots of books around me:

Found this cool one on Pinterest (author unknown)

Reading nook

I like to get myself ready for the colder and darker nights by setting up my book nook. I have several but this is the main one:

The cosy read kit:

Coffee or tea or hot chocolate

Blankets

cushions

Cosy chair or seating area

Books in a trolley near by.

A cute bookmark

A map and notebook (maybe that’s just me)

This is a good way of welcoming in the new season – make a book bouquet! This video shows The Works stores showing how to make one for Mother’s Day but the idea is the same. Add a few leaves in rusty colours as well as the flowers and it’s an autumn one!

Happy Book Back to School Season!
