Someone is brutally killing women. Women who bear a striking resemblance to former DCI Carol Jordan. The connection is too strong to ignore and soon psychological profiler Tony Hill finds himself dangerously close to the investigation, just as the killer is closing in on his next target.
This is a killer like no other, hell-bent on inflicting the most severe and grotesque punishment on his prey. As the case becomes ever-more complex and boundaries begin to blur, Tony and Carol must work together once more to try and save the victims, and themselves.
Bradfield is a fictional town in West Yorkshire. Despite there being a suburb of Sheffield called Bradfield, this is not it since it’s a small and rural suburb. However for a real journey in Bradfield, it would actually make more sense to head north past Sheffield and Bradford of course as these two cities gave Bradfield its name after all.
Since the cover features the canals and the canal boats of the area, a good place to go and view these are in Sheffield. The Sheffield/Tinsley Canal runs from the River Don, to the Sheffield Canal Basin in the city centre, passing through 11 locks.
The TV series was actually filmed in the North East of England in Newcastle and the surrounding areas – Gateshead and Durham to name but two. This was as the star of the show – Robson Green himself – wanted to keep the filming and work in the North East.
The city of Newcastle has changed since the filming however as one building in particular – the old Bank of England in Pilgrim Street has now been demolished
