2000s: Two broken souls in a remote house. Lonely or secluded?
Ally Mitchell lost her family one horrific evening when every single member of her family was destroyed forever leaving her broken, shattered and alone. Ian Rhodes is running from a broken heart for a loss he has endured and can’t get past so moves to a small mountain home, and shuts himself off from the rest of the world. When Ally finds herself in need of help for the first time since moving to her secluded mountain home, she has no choice but to turn to her new neighbor, Ian.
Together, Ally and Ian are forced to face their own fears but will it bring them closer together or their futures further apart?
Ironic or very apt that the very place where two lost souls should come to separately in order to shut themselves off from the world or to seek a new place miles from anywhere is the very place where there is a lake named after one of the most famous literary explorers.
This is the town where Ally and Ian hope to find solace.
Ian’s house is at the foothills of the mountains just outside of Durango and the nearest house is less than an eighteen of a mile way. Nothing else for miles an miles just as he wanted. Ally would prefer to have a seventeen year old boy deliver her groceries and would rather email the local store and go running in the dark rather than having to face anyone.
Wherever you live, in a mountainous home in the middle of nowhere or in the middle of the biggest city on the planet, being alone and being lonely are two very separate things.
